How do you like them apples?

A few weekends ago my mom and I went old school and made some apple sauce. Actually it was like 80lbs of apples, so it was a lot of sauce. It tasted so yummy!! Now, I know that it's not really old school to make your own apple sauce, and frankly I know I'll be doing stuff like this more and more often, but it was my first time, but so not my last. We also make some pie filling and froze it so next time we want fresh, well - semi-fresh apple pie we can make a quick crust and pop in the apples and we are good to go. This whole motherhood thing is really turning a new leaf in my life. I am making all sorts of stuff from scratch that I would only buy in the store before and I have this huge desire to be self-sufficient in so many areas like sewing and cooking etc. For many people stuff like this comes so easily and naturally, but it's all new to me and I'm loving it. Next on the list, bread making. The mixer just got ordered today and soon we'll have fresh bread in no time. I'm also looking into a greenhouse for my backyard. How fun would that be?

Oh my....what has gotten into you? I never thought I'd see this day. You know longer can look to me for domestic inspirations....it's all you now, my friend!

So now that you're all domestic, does that mean you want to knit and crochet with me? J/K, I realize that that's a little ridiculous, but we should do a craft night, because I need to get caught up on my baby book.
